What Voxara Is and Is Not
Voxara is a student-led volunteer platform that connects volunteers with communities that need them. Voxara is not a medical, therapy, or healthcare provider and makes no health claims about its sessions.
Information We Collect
- Account information: your name, email, and role (volunteer or host) when you join.
- Location: your city or ZIP code, so we can show nearby opportunities. Your exact location is never stored. We only use it to sort results and forget it right after.
- Messages: the messages you send to a host or volunteer through the Message Center.
- Host-required documents: if a host asks for a background check, ID, or other item, you upload that file to Voxara. These files are private and are visible only to you, that one host, and Voxara admins.
- Application details: phone number, date of birth, emergency contact, and (for volunteers under 18) parent or guardian consent.
- Service hours: hours you log after a session are confirmed by the host. Voxara records confirmed hours and issues a certificate, but does not verify or guarantee the accuracy of hours reported by hosts.
Who Can See Your Information
- Your name and role are visible to the people you message or schedule with.
- Your messages are visible only to you and the person you are talking with.
- Your uploaded documents are visible only to you, the one facility that requested them, and Voxara admins. No other host or volunteer can see them.
- Voxara admins can review records to keep the community safe.
- We never sell or rent your information, and we never share it for marketing.
Deleting Your Data
You can delete any document you uploaded at any time from your My Requirements page. To delete your account and all your data, send us a message through the Contact page or email the admin team. We will remove your account, messages, and uploads within 30 days.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Children and Minors
Volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian provide consent before joining. We do not display a minor's photo with a last name, age, school, or precise location on any public page. Guardian consent is recorded with a timestamp when the application is submitted.
What Voxara Is Not
Voxara is not a nonprofit, a medical or healthcare provider, an employer, or an accredited educational institution. Voxara does not offer school credit, guarantee employment, or provide professional licensing. Service hours are confirmed by the host organization, not verified by Voxara. Volunteers are not professionals and should not provide medical, therapy, or healthcare services.
